Environmental issues in Pakistan include air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution, climate change, pesticides misuse, soil erosion, natural disasters, desertification, flood warnings.
According to the global Environment Performance Index (EPI) ranking, Pakistan is on the list of countries that suffer from poor air quality. The climatic changes and global warming are the most alarming issues risking millions of lives across the country. The major reasons for these environmental issues are carbon emission, increasing population and deforestation.
These environmental concerns not only harm Pakistani citizens but also pose a serious threat to the country’s development.
According to an estimate from the WHO global health observatory, about 200 deaths per 100000 in the population are attributable to environmental factors in Pakistan.
So the state must learn and needs to stand up about great concentration on environmental issues and try to apply new strategies for eliminating the issues of the environment as quickly as possible.
