It is a well-known fact that Balochistan is one of Pakistan’s wealthiest and largest provinces, home to natural resources such as gold, silver, minerals, and plenty more. It breaks my heart to write that Balochistan is riddled with various challenges, one of which being cancer, and where its residents are suffering big-time from it as well as a lack of basic necessities for human survival.
My mind wanders with the thought of the poor who cannot afford a proper day meal and how can afford to go to faraway areas for the required and expensive treatment for the deadly cancer. Many people in Balochistan have died as a result of cancer.
From 1998 to 2009, there were 10,924 cancer patients in Quetta, according to reports. From 2014 to 2017, 10,000 more cases were reported in the city, most of which were cases of women battling breast cancer. Lastly, it is my humble request to the government of Balochistan to find out some solutions to make cancer under control and protect the people from this horrific disease and save multiple lives.
