Atmosphere: the shell of the earth
The earth is surrounded by a layer of air called the atmosphere. The lowest part of the atmosphere is called the troposphere. Its composition is 78% nitrogen and 21% oxygen, which together make up 99% of the gases in the air. The remaining 1% includes small amounts of carbon dioxide and other gases. Clean air is the result of either natural or manmade causes. Such changes cause air pollution.
Natural resources of air pollution include forest fires caused by lightning, wind erosion of soil dust particles in the air. And volcanic eruptions. Emissions from natural sources are dispersed in the air and rarely reach concentration high enough to cause serious damage. However, Exceptions occur in the form of massive volcanic eruptions. As a result, emission of sulfur dioxide and suspended particles like ash. Fear pollutants that result from human activities are the main threat to our environment. The burning of fossil fuels like coal, natural gas, petroleum in power generators, industrial plants and motor vehicles are the major causes of air pollution which occur due to human activity.
Our acts are indirectly affecting our health. As we are polluting the atmosphere; the atmosphere is providing us with harmful air. We must heed it and should try to curb air pollution.
