William Shakespeare:- Book Review
Shakespeare was a renowned English poet, playwright, and actor.
Shakespeare was a prolific writer during the Elizabethan and Jacobean ages of British theatre (sometimes called the English Renaissance or the Early Modern Period).
Shakespeare’s plays are perhaps his most enduring legacy, but they are not all he wrote. Shakespeare’s poems also remain popular to this day. He put forth some pre-eminent contributions in English literature which truly reflect the worth of his personality. Among them, most importantly, Othello and some other stories from Shakespeare’s plays are the unique ones.
This book (Othello) was edited by David Foulds. In this, there was a rich man whose name was Brabantio. He had a beautiful daughter. Her name was Desdemona. She was so beautiful. Many people wished to marry her because her father was a wealthy man. Her father Barbantio had always told his daughter that she was free to choose her own husband as she pleased. She thought in her mind that she would not marry any of the persons who are handsome or wealthy young men. She wanted to marry a man of character whose wisdom, talent and attitude were more important than his physical appearance. Interestingly, She chose her husband from North Africa. Her father was invited to his ( Her fiancees’) house. The name of her fiancee was Othello. He was not a young man but he was a very impactful personality. He was a brave soldier, who had faced many challenges in his life. He had travelled across several countries to fighting battles. Besides this, once he had been taken to prison by the enemy.
Whenever Othello returned back home, his fiancee had got her work done as quickly as possible, so that she could set aside and talk with him. Sometimes Othello used to share his life experiences, events, and battlefield stories to her. So, She thought, she desired the inclusion of such a man and wanted to spend her life as he was spending. In a nutshell, he agreed to marry her.
