We need Opportunities not Stadiums
We need Opportunities not Stadiums
After the pictures of the newly constructed stadium of Gawadar going viral on social platforms it hooked heed from across the globe, some of the international cricket players requested PCB ( Pakistan Cricket Board) to hold international matches in Gawadar stadium but unfortunately, Balochistan does not possess that good fate.
Going further, cricket mania is spread all over the country after a long arrival, on the other hand, the morn still continues in Balochistan for their eviction from the National League (PSL) and National team. Additionally, we can’t notice the presence of Baloch cricket players in any team of Pakistan Super League (PSL) in its current edition only once in the fourth edition two players from Balochistan were lucky to be selected in Pakistan Super League (PSL) who are Bismillah Khan and Ashgar Khan. Bismillah Khan for Quetta Gladiators_ Ashgar Khan for Peshawar Zalmi both of them contributed to their teams to a tremendous extent towards victory.
Furthermore, Bismillah khan is a hard_hitter and an awesome wicketkeeper. But he couldn’t get a great chance to prove himself a brilliant wicketkeeper in the presence of the captain of the team, Sarfaraz Ahmed.
Stretching ahead, in the fifth season of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Azam Khan was prefered over Bismillah Khan. Azam Khan, the son of former Pakistani cricketer Moin Khan, is a batsman. The same happened which was anticipated. Finally, Azam Khan debuted in the fifth season for Quetta Gladiators. Here some arguments arouse, why Bismillah Khan was replaced by Azam Khan? Is he more capable than him, is he fitter than him, or he has strong bonds with the authorities? These are some public reservations that had to be clarified when Azam Khan was selected for the squad of XI players of the Quetta Gladiators team.
It squeezes my chest as a native citizen of Balochistan to inscribe there isn’t a single Baloch cricket player in the Xl squad of any team of Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Moreover, Baloch players have the stamina to play in tricky and wise ways. It wouldn’t be wrong if we call Baloch players more capable than a large number of international players playing for the Pakistan Super League (PSL). As it remembers me a quote from Napoleon Bonaparte. “ Ability is nothing without opportunities”.
It seems like the Pakistan Board of Cricket (PCB) does not have an interest in Baloch players and is sprinkling less attention on Balochistan as compared to other provinces, consequently, this behaviour of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) towards Balochistan is denoted as favouritism and nepotism.
The countries which exist on the earth favour their own local talents first then others. Let’s not go far and catch the example of our neighbour country India who is striving to rummage the hidden talents in order to earn them and the country a prestigious profile internationally. Simultaneously, PCB is spitting out such talents away like how chewing gum is thrown out after its taste is gone.
To sum up, I plea to PCB to bestow opportunities on Baloch cricket players so that they prove themselves useful and essential. And to make the war of contradiction thinner occurring between the citizens of Balochistan and the regime.
