Water Crisis in Gokdan
Turbat is a city in southern Balochistan and the center of Kech district. Turbat was the historical capital of Mekran. It is the second-largest in Balochistan after Quetta and Gokdan is one of the suburbs of Turbat which suffers from water scarcity. The people of Gokdan are facing a lot of problems. Water is the need of everything whether it comes to our daily chores like cooking, washing, taking bath or it is about our survival, everything depends on this crucial element.
What astonishes me in this 21st century is that the people of Gokdan still carry buckets on their heads and go to other places in search of water. It really hurts to mention that they bring water from such far distances which not only makes them tired but sometimes they suffer from extreme illness due to the pain they feel during this tiring work.
There are laborers who say if we dig a well very deeply, there are possibilities we can get water but this work needs money and resources which they are unable to afford. This is where they seek help from the government to do something for such people who are still living in the ancient ages when humans have reached the moon.
