Water, which is essential to human survival, and without it, a human body is unable to function, but regrettably, most major cities in Pakistan are dealing with unsafe water issues, which is leading to multiple issues in people’s lives.
According to the most recent underground water studies, millions of citizens in 29 major cities in Pakistan are consuming polluted water, putting their lives at threat from fatal arsenic, bacteria, and certain other toxins. The quality of drinking water in 29 big cities is critically hazardous, according to research performed by the country’s leading agency, the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR).
Water quality in many big cities in Pakistan, including Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Khuzdar, etc is unhealthy and unsafe for drinking. Water contamination recorded in some of the cities like Multan (94%), Karachi (93%), Bahawalpur (76%), Khuzdar (55%); Loralai (54%); Quetta (53%), is totally unsafe.
On the other hand, in Pakistan, problems such as unemployment, inflation, covid-19, and multiple others are now growing, and the country’s water crisis is surely worsening in the majority of the country. As a result, the government should be fighting this serious issue and protecting civilians by providing clean drinking water.
