Key Takeaways:

- The poor and homeless population suffers from hunger, malnutrition, and weakened immunity.
- Lack of access to healthcare facilities further worsens the health conditions of the impoverished.
- Homeless individuals face insecurity and are vulnerable to crime and abuse.
- Illiteracy and lack of education perpetuate the cycle of poverty, leading to child labor.
The Dire Consequences of Hyperinflation and Political Instability
The very sensitive issue of poverty has now reached its peak as the country has been facing hyperinflation for the last few years. The most annoying thing is that no action has been taken on this because of the political instability in our country, and the situation is getting worse day by day.
Neglecting the Plight of the Poor and Homeless
Everyone other than the lower class is fine with this issue or at least is in a good state of survival, but no one is thinking about our poor and homeless brothers and sisters who are just concerned about their hunger every single minute of their lives.
They are continuously working hard and earning money just to get an incomplete meal for almost two times a day. These people don’t have enough food and are weak in their immunity due to malnutrition. They get diseased very easily due to pollution and unhygienic practices and are not treated for their health problems in hospitals because they can’t afford private hospitals and due to the lack of facilities in government hospitals.
These people, who are living on the roadsides, on footpaths, and in temporary and very old tents, do not have any security or protection from the hazardous environment and inhuman people like robbers, snatchers, and rapists who can do anything to them, behave in any manner towards their daughters, children, and elders.
And the big thing is that these criminals are not made answerable to anyone, to any law. They are illiterate and compelled to do child laboring because they can’t afford the fees and other expenditures of educational institutions and again due to the lack of facilities in government institutions. So they don’t have any kind of education and awareness about their rights.
And due to child laboring, these children are working from their childhood just to support their families in any way, and again the whole terrible and hectic lifecycle continues in the same way. They are unable to enjoy the standard of life; hence, they are not living but surviving life.
The Devastating Impact on Health and Immunity
In these circumstances, can we say ourselves or are we able to call ourselves Muslim? It’s mentioned in Sahih Hadith that all Muslims are brothers among themselves, and another Sahih Hadith has mentioned that all Muslims are like one body; when one part of the body is hurt, the whole body is uncomfortable and feels the pain.
We all just know our responsibility to only protest for our Muslim brothers in Palestine because there we can’t do anything due to a lack of faith or say due to our inability to do something other than protests or donating funds, which is also a very good and appreciable thing.
But where is our sympathy, help, and responsibility towards our own state’s needy and poor people who are also dying not from any blasts of any Israel but due to our irresponsible, selfish, and inhumane behavior?
Insecurity and Vulnerability of the Homeless
These people are our people, our brothers and sisters, not only by religion but also by the relationship of humanity. They really need our help, our attention, and all our acts of kindness towards them.
When Allah gives someone more things, He has also put the responsibility on themselves for those people whom He has not given much. That’s why the great powers come with great responsibilities.
The Cycle of Illiteracy and Child Labor
And as Islam is the religion based on collectivism, not on individualism, so again this thing or this global or national problem can be overcome through collective efforts, not only by individualistic efforts.
So this responsibility can be completed through collective efforts by all the citizens to make sure that our needy and poor people can lead a better life and enjoy better living standards.
Fulfilling the Responsibility of Brotherhood and Unity
It’s time to fulfill our responsibility, which we can, of course, do for our country’s people. We all can if we want to do it for our people who need us the most and for whom we are responsible. And we all need to aware everyone about our social responsibility to cooperate with us in overcoming this problem.
