The Lion and The Lucky Man (Story)
Once upon a time, there was a man named Aslam who was so poverty-stricken that he couldn’t even meet his basic needs. He once reasoned that scholars make a lot of money, so he should be one as well. Then he bought a rosary and sat in the middle of the forest. He was aware that one farmer and his donkey passed through this way every day. He stole and hides his donkey one day. The man looks everywhere for his donkey but can’t find it. He begins to return home in despair when Aslam stops him and tells him,
“I understand why you’re upset because you’ve lost your donkey. The man asks him to locate his donkey. Aslam tells him, “Don’t worry, I know where your donkey is.” He closes his eyes for a moment, then opens them and tells the man “Your donkey is hidden behind a large, old tree. The man gave him money and went to find his donkey. When he sees his donkey, he is amazed; even so, he becomes happy and becomes a fan of Aslam.
After a few days, someone steals the princess’s valuable diamond neckless. “I know a logical scholar who can easily find that neckless,” the farmer told the king. The king directed his soldiers to go immediately and bring the scholar. They summoned him to the king’s presence. Aslam was perplexed as to why they had forced him to appear before the king. Aslam is given an order by the king “You only have one day to find my daughter’s neckless. If you don’t find it, I’ll kill you.”
In the middle of the night, Aslam begins to wander aimlessly. He became extremely worried and started telling himself, “Doze doze, now you sleep because it is your last night and tomorrow the king will kill you.” When one of the servants heard Aslam call her name, she became terrified. She assumed the scholar was referring to her and also knew about the princess’s necklace. It will not be good for me if he informs the king. The king wants to assassinate me. Then she goes to Aslam and says “Please don’t tell the king that I stole the neckless. “I will give you everything that I took away from here.” Aslam is taken aback. However, he is overjoyed to learn about the neckless thief. “If you want to be safe, you have to do whatever I say,” he tells the servant. She agreed. “You will give this neckless to the peacock, then I will tell the king that it ate the princess’s neckless,” Aslam said. She did exactly what Aslam demanded.
The next morning, the king inquired about the necklace with Aslam. “Your peacock ate that neckless,” he claims.” “I can’t believe this, it’s not possible, how can a peacock eat neckless?” exclaimed the king. “First you behead the peacock, then you’ll know whether I’m wrong or right,” Aslam replied. The king agreed to slaughter it after seeing that it ate the neckless.
After a few days, the king learned that a lion had entered the town and was killing humans. “Now you must protect people,” the king said once more to Aslam. Aslam becomes perplexed as to what he can do in this situation. He wonders how he will deal with the lion.
“No, I’m afraid I can’t do it.” It is the most difficult task. He told his wife, “Now we have to leave because I can’t do this and if I don’t do it, the king will kill me.” His wife stated. “You are correct; we should move ahead after this.”
After that, he goes to bring a donkey for the journey. It was far too dark outside. Some men were standing with their donkeys. He reasoned that as they left, he would steal one donkey. Still, he was considering, and those men rode away on their donkeys. That lion appears unexpectedly and stands there. It was completely dark. Aslam couldn’t see clearly, so he assumed it was a donkey. Aslam was furious at the time because of the king and told the lion, “Hiya! Today you must accompany me; if you do not, I will kill you.” What does that lion suspect? “Who is he? He is not afraid of me and even threatens me. It means he is a very brave and powerful man, and I must follow him.”
Aslam rides the lion back to his home. As he returned home, his wife noticed that it was a lion, not a donkey, but Aslam had no idea. His wife was extremely brave. She quickly locks the lion, and Aslam exclaims, “Oh! My God!” He is pleased with himself. He got extremely lucky. He gave the lion to the King and saved everyone. The king is very pleased with his work and granted Aslam half of his property. Aslam was extremely fortunate. He thanked God and lived happily ever after.
