The Island of Adventure is written by Enid Blyton. She was born in Dulwich, south London, England. She was one of the world’s famous children’s writers. It is a story of four friends and the main characters are Philip Mannering, Bill Cunningham, Dinah Mannering, Kiki and Jack Trent. They met each other on the Hillside. Philip was on holiday coaching. He met Lucky, Ann and Jack with his parrot on the Hillside and was glad to be with them. Philip enjoyed this trip, on the other hand, he missed his sister Dinah who was not with him. Three of them discussed their home and their relatives with whom they were living. Philip told his friends about his hometown, so Jack was interested and wanted to see Philip’s house. Jack could not go on this holiday because Mr Trent had broken his leg. Philip took both of his new friends in his hometown Craggy_Tops. They went there and settled with Philip’s family. In Craggy_Tops there lived Philip’s uncle, Joe and aunt Polly. Aunt Polly was quite good with his friends but uncle Joe really hates his new friends. The day passed and one day, they both decided to go to the seaside where they found lots of secret places. As they entered these places, they were afraid of darkness inside the rooms. All of them enjoy their holidays in Craggy_Top.
