I close my eyes, thinking about her, a feeling of sorrow and grief in my chest. Thinking about how helpless and innocent she had been, for a while I keep myself in her place. I hear the cries, screams, worries, and tensions. She was shrouded by the world’s hardest dilemmas. All she wanted to live, she had big dreams, and she wanted to express herself to the world but the ruthless world murdered her.
A story that is not a story of a single girl, it is a story of me and you. I cannot mention the real name of the victim because I’m not allowed but the story is real.
A girl named Bakhtawar, she lived with six siblings, four sisters and two brothers in a patriarchal family where the head of the family was male dominant. The family’s environment was miserable, the kids heard the shouts and fights of their parents. ‘Love’ like the word was lost in the atmosphere.
She saw the world with love and beauty. But however, on one side; she faced discrimination, on the other side; she wanted love, she wanted someone to take care of her, and she wanted someone to listen to her. She was in search of them but sadly, she got nothing more than disappointments everywhere.
The want for love and attention took birth in her inner self. She tried to remove them, she tried to live a life for her own self but in every step of her life she desired love which she really wanted in her life.
Furthermore, she learned to shout for every little stuff but she didn’t scream for the real cause which she was hiding for very long.
One day, she listened about social apps that people do communicate with other people through it, though she didn’t know how to make an account or how to use it she tried and became successful in her mission. She made a fake Facebook account. She didn’t mention her name anywhere on Facebook. She gave unreal details.
She talked with the boys. And boys knew girls’ psyche very well. They wanted pictures of the girl, she googled the girl’s pictures and sent him. As if she was the only one who had access to google. So simply, boys rejected the fake girl, I mean Bakhtawar. She was heartbroken but didn’t quit.
Years passed, and she turned into a teenager. This time she was real whoever she loved she loved wholeheartedly. She trusted people a lot.
She loved a guy from the deepest chamber of her heart, and she did everything she was told by her boyfriend. She called it love but love was being used. Everyone is a pleasure seeker some are very curious about it. To get pleasure, sex, and nudes are essential elements for people’s pleasure, might it differ sometimes.
The boy, she loved asked her to send her naked pictures and videos she sent him, and the demands further increased, he wanted to have sex with her but she couldn’t do it. This time she expressed ‘No’. However, She didn’t know what will be the result of it. The boy might think it was a direct insult to him, to take out his frustration and get relief, He leaked the naked videos of her.
What will the girl face after this sudden shock?
She was almost a dead soul, helpless as if the world was over, she thought about people’s gossip and shames, she thought about her family. Neither she could cry nor she could scream. She felt sorry, she realized her mistakes but she couldn’t have any guts to move on.
When her story came forward not a single solitary from her family listened to her and came up for help. The only option she found for herself was to end her life, and she committed suicide.
After some hours the media reported a girl committed suicide without finding the actual reason behind it. But anyhow, Suicides are murders. And we all are the real murderers.
Why don’t we talk about it? And find a solution to eradicate such problems. This is a problem as a whole, everyone must speak up for it, I’m even shocked to see people who turned back, today if such news spread at every corner but not any Baloch feminist talk about it, discuss the main cause in media, it does not blame or anyone pointing on their ideology but yes pointing out on their commitments that transformed into lies.
Simply, they’ve left a bad image in our minds to consider them attention seekers. And men who claim Baloch women are their respect but what are they really doing with their own respect?
These incidents are taking place in Balochistan rapidly, the suicidal cases are increasing but the police don’t investigate on such issues. Might call them Traditional norms. Cyber Harassment And Online Violence Against Women have nothing to do with gain profits. People have been hacked and they’ve been threatened by blackmailers. Illegal and unconstitutional acts are demolishing people’s right to freedom and life.
