Quetta is the largest city in the mineral-rich Balochistan, but it continues to suffer due to the lack of necessary infrastructure. It lacks adequate water supply, suffers long periods of load-shedding, has a poor transportation system, multiple traffic problems, and as well as a poor healthcare system. These aforementioned issues have created numerous challenges for the residents of the capital.
One primary challenge in Quetta is a dearth of public libraries, which has caused numerous challenges faced by the students. A few private libraries are present, but most students cannot afford the high fees they charge monthly. Without a doubt, the strength of students in the city is growing every day due to the presence of multiple educational institutions. Balochistan has thirty-four districts, and most students from these districts are living in the capital for better education.
Quetta does have a public library called the Quad e Azam Library, which is sited within the main bazaar. It doesn’t have enough space to accommodate the large number of students. Besides most students live far away from the main bazaar. This library also lacks basic human necessities such as lavatories and access to drinkable water, and thus students are forced to go outside to quench their thirst every time.
At last, this is strongly requested and humbly appealed that related authorities should pay real attention to this excruciatingly painful struggle students has to face every day, so to provide more libraries within the capital city of Balochistan.
