Natural resources of Balochistan
Almighty Allah has blessed Pakistan, especially our province Balochistan, with an abundance of natural resources. There are two types of minerals; metallic minerals and non-metallic minerals. Metallic minerals include chromite, copper, gold and iron -ore, etc. These are mostly found in Saindak, Pirkoh, Chagai district, and Muslim Bagh.
The non-metallic minerals are marble and gypsum. They are found in Khuzdar region. Marble is used in making cement and fertilizers. Soapstone is a non-metallic mineral found in the province. It is used in making different kinds of soaps and talcum powder. Another important non-metallic mineral is coal. It is found in Mach, Lorelai, and Quetta districts.
Coal is used for generating electricity and is also used as fuel in houses and various industries. We have deposits of natural gas besides other minerals. Sui is the region with the largest natural gas reserves. Natural gas has become a major fuel for domestic use and fueling industries.
