After blockbuster ‘Pathaan’ last year, Siddharth Anand is back with his next directorial “Fighter,” starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, set to release on January 25, 2024.
The aerial thriller, in the same genre as Hollywood’s ‘Top Gun – Maverick’, is produced by Viacom18 Studios and Siddharth Anand’s own production house Marflix Pictures.
Set to be released a day prior to the Indian Republic Day on 26th January, the runtime of the patriotic film “Fighter” is revealed to be 166 minutes (2 hours and 46 minutes). The Central Board of Film Certification of India has granted the movie a UA certification.
The plot revolves around escalating militant activities along the India-Pak Line of Control, leading to the establishment of a special unit called Air Dragons at the Air Force base in Srinagar.
Air Dragons comprises Sukhoi 30 fighter jets and ALH helicopters, featuring the best combat aviators from the Indian Air Force.
The film’s trailer, released on January 15, 2024, give out a glimpse of the high-octane action sequences, the main characters, an emotional patriotism based story with desh-bakhti dialogues.
Film’s supporting cast includes Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi.
The official synopsis of ‘Fighter’ reveals:
“Militant activities are going out of control in the Srinagar Valley, so a new and elite unit, Air Dragons, is commissioned by the Air Headquarters. They are now the first responders to any hostile activity. They comprise of the best combat aviators handpicked from across the IAF. FIGHTER is the story of Air Dragons who are willing to give it their all for the nation while going through the highs and lows of their internal and external battles.”
