Pakistan is the sixth most populous country in the world with a population of 219 million. Here most of the educated youth are unemployed. According to the experts, several unemployed people are living in miserable conditions in the country who can neither find a job nor can be a part of the labor industry. The estimation of jobless people has reached 6.65 million during the fiscal year 2020-2021 compared to 5.80 of the outgoing fiscal year. According to the government annual plan, Pakistan has the 9th largest labor force in the world which is increasing every year in the country. It is the estimation of great experts to the issue that the number of employed workers will reach 62.91 million in 2020-21 from 62.18 million in 2019-20 in the country. According to the Labour Force Survey (LFS) 2017-18, the unemployment rate for the years 2020.21 has been estimated at 9.56 percent. Most importantly the youth unemployment rate is higher as compared to the average unemployment rate in the country. It is really a fact that the highest rate of unemployment, 11.56 percent, is estimated among the age group of 20- 24 years.
It is my humble suggestion to the government to take serious action on the issue and provide jobs to the people who are educated and jobless in the country.
