Exciting news for Godzilla and Kong franchise fans as the release schedule for ‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’ has been moved up in the US by the Warner Bros., with the film now set to debut on March 29, to cash on the Easter boost.
This change was facilitated by Warner Bros. who removed another highly talked about release ‘Mickey 17’ from the release schedule.
Additionally, the first trailer for Godzilla x Kong has been released in Japan, announcing an April 26 release date in the country, weeks after the US premiere.
The Japanese poster mirrors the Western one, featuring Godzilla and Kong with helicopters approaching Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The film, directed by Adam Wingard, is based the Hollow Earth and reveals a new Titan menace, requiring an alliance between Godzilla and Kong.
Returning cast members include Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, and Kaylee Hottle, while Dan Stevens joins as a lead in The New Empire.
The Monster Verse franchise has seen previous installments like Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017), and Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019).
The expansion also includes the anime series Skull Island (2023) on Netflix and the live-action series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (2023) on Apple TV+.
Stay tuned for more updates as the release date approaches!
