We do not desire to live a lonely existence because of our social nature. Every individual, male or female, young or old, wealthy or poor, makes friends with literature, while some make friends with pet animals.
Without a doubt, some individuals today have online Facebook, likee, and Tiktok buddies with whom they spend their time chatting. Others consider mobile phones, iPads, and other technological devices to be pals with whom they stay involved.
Furthermore, some friends stay longer than the others, and when they end up leaving, it is often hard to acknowledge that and you seriously question why they entered your life in the process; it is complicated since you probably needed them to stay forever, as you would have started to communicate a connection that you clearly misidentified for friendship. But it wasn’t what you expected; if that had been friendship, they might have remained in your life forever, regardless if they had traveled a thousand miles away. Yet then it’s just a question of time until such “friends” slip away, as if they never were.
True friends, on the other hand, are constantly there. Whether close or distant, they make a mark in the book of your memories, a mark so hard to erase that it’s virtually everlasting. So you have no motive to aspire to get rid of it. Those recollections are simply too lovely and priceless. If you believe these scars to be stains for whatever reason, it means that either the person was not a real friend or that having lost them was too traumatic. Everything should flow naturally if they are meant to be.
But keep in mind that the most amazing aspect of friendship is that it simply gives and just never asks for anything in exchange. Remembering this will help you to be a better friend while avoiding the heartache of disappointment. May Allah bless all of the dear friends.
