‘Mean Girls’ Goes Past $40 Million at US Box Office
Still at the top comes the second weekend, Reneé Rapp’s portrayal of ReginaGeorge in Paramount’s ‘Mean Girls 2024’ musical remake continued to dominate the US Box Office, grossing an additional $3.3M.
The mixed audience reaction and a dismisal response from the critics meant the film saw a drop of roughly 72% from the previous Friday’s opening, the film has reached a gross total of $41.6M in the US.
Made on a budget of estimated $36M, the film is looking to rake in around $8-10M from Saturday and Sunday and take the gross total to the half century mark over the second weekend.
‘The Beekeeper’ Friday Box Office
Meanwhile released on the same timeframe as ‘Mean Girls, the R-rated action film ‘The Beekeeper’ directed by David Ayer and starring Jason Statham, grossed $2.4M on its second Friday, experiencing roughly 64% drop from the previous Friday’s opening.
The film has reached a $25.1M gross total in the US in the first week plus second Friday, and it is expected to have an $8 to 10M second weekend at the box office.

Timothée Chalamet’s ‘Wonka’ secured its position as the 10th highest-grossing 2023 release at the US Box Office, grossing 1.5M on its 6th Friday, beating the concert film of Taylor Swift.
The film with $182.3M gross run so far in the US, gets past ‘The Eras Tour Film’ and ‘Sound Of Freedom’ to become the 9th highest-grossing release of 2023 in the US and now targeting ‘John Wick 4’ $187M domestic run next.
