Fatimah al-Zahra
Hazrat Fatima (A.S) is the greatest woman, the epitome in each aspect. She showed a practical way of living a virtuous life. She was completely pure in body and spirit. When She was in Hazrat Khadija’s womb, before the birth she would speak with her mother. (Reported by the Sunni scholar, Abdul Rehman Shafie, in his book, Nuzhat Al- Majils). Hazrat khadija concealed the secret of miracles to the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W) that she talks with her daughter within her womb. One day there was no one at home around her, the Prophet (S.A.W.W) found her talking with someone. He asked her if she replied to him. She said that “I would always talk with her within my womb”. (Reported by the Sunni scholar, Shuab B. Saad Al Misry). In fact, Allama Malisi said in his book, Bihar ul-Anvar that “whenever Hazrat Khadija feels sad and despair, Hazrat Fatima gives courage and hope to her mother from the womb”.
Hazrat Fatima was born in Makkah on 20th Jamadi Ul Akhar on Friday in 615 AD. At her birth time on delivery she called the women of Makkah for aid, no one came and helped her. By the command of Allah, four pious and virtuous women made sure of their presence for the support of her at the time of delivery. They were Bibi Hawwa (Nabi Adam’s wife), Kulthum (Nabi Musa’s sister), Mariam (Nabi Isa’s mother), Asiya (Pharaoh’s wife). When Hazrat Fatima came to the world, she was completely different from other girls.
Hazrat Fatima has been named by Allah through the prophet’s tongue. In number, she has totally nine names.
They are, Fatima (The safeguarded one)
Siddiqa (The truth one)
Mubarak (The blessed one)
Tahira (The virtuous one)
Zakiah (The pure one)
Radhia (The one who is satisfied)
Mardhia (The one who pleases)
Muhaddisa (The one speaking with angels)
Zahra (The lady of light)
Hazrat Fatima didn’t live a long life. She died between seventy five to ninety days after the Prophet’s death at the age of eighteen. She left us forever, but she gave the overall women the best lesson that how to spend a virtuous life and refrain from evil things.
