Effects of Global warming
Global warming refers to the heating up of the planet earth. As we know that the temperature of our planet is increasing day by day. Winters are getting colder while summers are getting hotter than ever. There are many hazardous effects of global warming which include; melting of ice caps and glaciers, extreme weather and extinction of various species.
Global warming causes melting of ice caps and glaciers. When temperatures get hotter it melts our glaciers which have been maintaining the temperature of planet earth. Eventually, All this melted ice just creates a rise in the water volume of the ocean. Due to which sea level rises. Moreover, the warmer the temperature gets, the more the mass of the water gets expanded. That poses a great threat to the low- lying islands and coastal cities.
Global warming causes extreme weather. People are experiencing hotter and hotter days due to it. No doubt, each year records are getting broken. Meanwhile, degrees of temperature have gone as far as 54 degrees Celsius. Consequently, people are facing frequent intense weather. forest fires, droughts, floods, and more natural disasters becoming more and more common. For instance, California wildfire being the latest one.
Wildlife has been affected by global warming in a bad way. The wild animal faces new challenges every day in the shape of forest fire and natural disasters. Furthermore, due to global warming oceans are getting warmer which can directly harm marine life and destroy the places they live. It is the reason today many animal species can’t be found. Nevertheless, they can be seen only in pictures.
In conclusion, global warming is on peak and its dangerous effects can be seen today. Be it the destruction of wildlife, melting ice caps and glaciers or Extreme weather. Last but not the least, we can save our planet from global warming only if we stop polluting our environment and start planting more and more trees.
