Education and Ramadan
Ramadan is one of the most sacred months of the Islamic calendar and Muslims all across the globe make special arrangements and preparations to celebrate this month and observe it with utmost religious zest. The prominent features of this months are fasting, Taraweeh prayer at night and excessive recitation of the Quran and offering additional prayers, so Muslims must give time to pray as much as they can in Ramadan, but lamentably they are made limited because the government has taken the destructive decision to open educational institutions in Ramadan, thus surely people will be in hot water. The federal education minister (Shafqat Mehmood) has announced that exams can not be postponed though it is Ramadan. Educational professionals have no idea that It is harsh for examiners and students to take papers in Ramadan. Likewise, students can not concentrate on the structures to learn at the drop of a hat as some cities and villages are present in Pakistan which are torrid like Karachi, Turbat, Sibi, Gwadar etc. Ramadan is the holy month to pray, but unfortunately in Pakistan, educational people don’t spend their precious time studying the Holy Quran and study other Islamic books and pray, instead, they take exams or classes of mathematics, English, Urdu etc. As we know, these classes and exams are available for the entire year, but the huge blessings of Ramadan are not available. Comprehending global education is necessary, but not more than the recitation of the Holy Quran, Taraweeh prayer at night time and other prayers in Ramadan.
