Dukh ki musafat:. Review
Dukh ki musafath is a nonfiction novel which is authored by Hameeda Ghangro in Sindhi language and it has been translated into Urdu by Meer Abid. The book is based on her life experiences, sufferings, hardships that she went through at her early age. The story as well tells how bravely she handled and stood Infront of the situations.
Each individual’s life differs from another. Likewise, she did not have an ordinary history. That she was a revolutionary woman who fought against dictatorship and tried her level best to provide the rights of deprived citizens.
In the beginning, she has quoted about her childhood and ended it with her husband Nazeer’s death. She further described her family as consisting of nine siblings who were theoretical daughters of her worthy father. They protested against injustice especially for women’s rights, their education, and once they also had a demand for a girls college in the area but Hameeda and her sister Zubaida were imprisoned for it.
Later on, Hameeda with her hard-working group members got much trouble in the way of achieving equal rights for all classes in the society and Sindh should be treated as other provinces
In the way of human rights activism, her husband Nazeer was tortured and even killed for raising voices.
After the death of Nazeer, the whole party broke into many pieces. The same people who were ready to sacrifice their lives for this way, but stepped back and showed such carelessness as if they were unaware of everything.
Thus, the behavior of the group hurt Hameeda but the noblewoman moved on and began her struggle with a pen. She mainly highlighted the efforts and character of Nazeer as being her pride. He was a voice and a helping hand for not only Sindhi but also for Baloch.
The birth of Hameeda’s daughter became a reason to smile for her.
Additionally, I suggest the book be read by everyone as it is the story happening around us. The struggle was real which Hameeda told about and her story is worth reading and heart-melting which is not only about an individual but a community going through the process of that struggle.
