It makes me question the role of the government over how spoiled Pakistani youths are as a result of drug addiction. Drug addiction leads to unethical and terrible behavior, and youth are aware of the dire consequences. In a sense, drug addiction is recognized to be a longstanding issue. Furthermore, numerous drugs are addictive in Pakistan, with over 7.6 million persons hooked, primarily academic students, of which 78 percent are male and 22 percent are female, and this figure is growing by 40,000 every year.
Similarly, according to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Pakistan has 6.7 million drug users, more than 4 million of them are addicts, making it the country with the biggest number of addicts in the world. Drug addiction has become a worldwide concern, particularly among teens, hurting their overall health, physical growth, and emotional and social development. It also has an impact on the country’s economic performance. nonetheless, there is an increase In terms of drug usage among Pakistani youth. These young kids appear to be victims of drug addiction, and the majority of them appear to be coerced into using narcotics.
Consequently, it has become a serious issue in several Pakistani regions. To combat drug addiction, the government could take various initiatives. For example, the government should research medical treatments that would allow drug addicts to abstain from using drugs. If such a treatment exists, it must be available to everybody. Family members or friends of the addicted individual should form strong bonds with addicts so that they would not become dependent on drugs. The connection has the potential to keep them away from substances. and the consumer must avoid going to locations wherever they understand the substance is offered.
The government should take action to prevent drug addiction because, according to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, drug prevention aids in the development of knowledge, attitudes, and abilities. It is not only the government’s job but everybody’s responsibility, to put a stop to this now.
