If the planet earth is asked about its ultimate beauty, then the reply would be forestation. It is has been agreed that forests are not only the beauty of the earth but are the lungs that provide us oxygen, shelter and food. For a reminder, world-wide 21st of March is exalted as forest day, but unfortunately today there are only 30 forests on Earth and less than 4 in Pakistan. Furthermore, the number of forests is de-escalating day by day. Interestingly one billion and eighty million acres area forests are being cut down and 15 billion trees are decimated every year, as they are used for the animals grazing, timbers at factories and are used for making furniture and papers and also in rural areas they are being cut down for the land as agricultural ambitions or making factories· If the situation is not controlled after 100 years there won’t be any wildlife left and not enough rainfalls occur, the land would decimate· Forests can stop the land from erosion and can control floods and air pollution· Due to the deforestation a number of disasters can occur on the Earth. Additionally, air pollution can increase, plenty of diseases can spread and global warming can increase and there won’t be any healthy people left or living on earth won’t be possible· It is the duty of the government and environment alliances to take instantaneous action against deforestation and not permit anybody to cut down trees, neither for factories nor for loggers· Moreover If someone illegally cuts down forests, they will have to be punished and unluckily with reforestation we can’t simply offset deforestation, since soil properties including carbon sequestration and nutrient availability can take decades to recover in the surface layer and may not fully recover in deeper horizons of the soil· Instead of deforestation, there must be laws to plant countless trees in cities, roadsides and in industrial areas to decrease air pollution and to live a healthy life. It should be our aim to green the globe and live in a healthy environment.

What we are doing to the forests of the world is but a mirror reflection of what we are doing to ourselves and to one another.
