Cor means body and poral means related to the body. In simple words, it is physical punishment. Physical punishment is a tool used to control children, especially in Madrassas.
The staggering point is, is corporal punishment the solution to make the students learn or memorize something?
Constitutionally, it is abstained to beat a student whether that be a school or a Madrissa. Yet, it is practiced in several institutes.
Physical punishment can never evoke the interest of students in learning. By corporal punishment, the students may memorize the lessons owing to fear but they will never be willing to learn.
Contrariness and repression in the child’s mind can damage him mentally. We shall bring up healthy, disciplined, and capable students, not machines to just memorize the texts.
Lastly, punishment is never a solution but always a problem, trouble, and a method to degrade the interest of learning in children and their sincerity towards education.
