Child marriage is common in every part of our country, mostly in Balochistan.
Balochistan is one of the ancient places of the world and is the largest province of Pakistan. Child marriage has been a common trend in Balochistan for centuries.
However, day by day the world is being modern and giving basic rights to females to choose their life partners which they must possess because it is their life, and they will spend it.
Nevertheless, in Balochistan, they don’t have the right to choose their partners, yet they are forced by their parents to marry at earlier ages. On top of that, not only girls but boys are also getting married at earlier ages. Even though, child marriage is more common among daughters.
When the girls reach the age of 13,14 or 15, their parents force them to marry.
This is the age of playing and getting an education when they have no problems and are free from tensions, but their parents think that they are the biggest tension.
When a baby boy is born, the parents become happy, but the birth of a girl makes them unhappy because they think that boys are better than girls. They think boys will earn money and take responsibility when they get old. They think girls are not there, they are for others’ homes. They cannot earn money and they are for housework.
Parents make them marry and then leave them alone to take on responsibilities. They will face a lot of problems and there is no one to support them, they are also mentally not prepared. Boys will have to work and earn money to run their home but for a child, it is difficult to earn money.
The boys’ and girls’ lives will be destroyed.
It is my humble request to all parents, to give rights to their children and not make them marry during childhood.
