Causes of Environmental Pollution
The environment forms a very important aspect of human life because it provides the essential elements of life such as air, water and food. The contamination of our environment by pollution is environmental pollution. Actually, environmental pollution is caused by human unsustainable developments like construction, deforestation, and industrialization.
However, environmental pollution exists due to human activities. Everyone knows that environmental pollution has many negative effects on human life as well as on the lives of animals. Regrettably, people have been promoting those activities which are causing the environment. Besides this, the earth can not restore its balance because of land pollution. The human race has created and destroyed life on earth. As a great writer quotes, ” Environmental pollution is an incurable disease that can only be prevented “. Pollution is classified into depending on the natural compounds as follows: air pollution, water pollution and land pollution.
Air Pollution
Air pollution is known as one of the environmental pollutions. Air pollution is the addition of harmful substances to the atmosphere which comes from human activists like burning fossil fuels, natural gas and etc, resulting in damage to the environment, human health and quality of life. As a matter of fact, air pollution causes a number of diseases like cold, cough, eye disease, and lung diseases. It is also very dangerous for the lives of animals and plants. Consequently, due to the air pollution temperature is increasing day by day. The pollution is very menacing for the future of the world as it is melting the ice on the South and North Poles, and the glaciers which increase the water level in the oceans. It results in acid rain corrodes buildings, damages crops and forests. And makes the streams and rivers unsuitable for fish and other plants.
Land Pollution
Land pollution is also considered as a kind of environmental pollution. Land pollution is a serious problem that impacts the lives of humans, plants and animals on the earth. The adverse changes to the environment due to land pollution are subtle. But, the problem is much bigger. Land pollution is the deposition of solid and liquid waste materials dumped in the land like plastic bags, bottles and etc which are the main causes of land pollution. However, land pollution is increasing day by day due to solid wastes which are increasing because of the growing number of industries. Mostly, land pollution expands on accord of plastic materials which is a big threat to the environment. It is causing irreparable harm to the environment as well as living beings.
Water pollution
Water pollution is one of the major threats to human life. It results in many diseases like thyroids, malaria, kidney, and others due to poor quality of water. It is nearly creating countless health issues. Furthermore, the survey report says that in Pakistan 30 percent of diseases and 40 percent of deaths are just because of poor quality of water. Unclean drinking water is a source of many diseases including diarrhoea, typhoid intestinal worms and hepatitis and an estimated 25,000 children deaths occur each year in Pakistan due to water pollution and water-borne diseases. Water pollution is the leading worldwide causes of death. The reason for water pollution is throwing of garbage and industrial wastes in rivers, canals, streams and seas.
Finally, there are many ways to control pollution in the world if the government plays a positive role in this regard and should take some serious steps to control pollution. One should not let carbon dioxide and other gases to be emitted. Cutting trees in large quantities and it should be declared as a crime. Throwing plastic materials must be banned and the government must be positively playing its role in this regard then pollution can be controlled easily.
