An anonymous, poor, helpless and cruel scene is imprinted in our minds Whenever we hear the name of Balochistan. Whether one speaks the truth or stays silent he/she is killed, as if article 19 of the constitution of Pakistan, 1973, is not for Baloch people. On the other hand, Balochistan is the sole region in Asia that ranks first when it comes to poverty. And If we talk about the natural resources of Balochistan, then it is considered to be the richest.
As we all are well aware that for some Baloch, the only source to survive is the Iran border. Astoundingly, the government recently announced the seizure of the border. However, Baloch, sometimes have to face hazardous catastrophes while working on borders. But they don’t care because they have to feed their family because of the paucity of jobs in the province.
Similarly, Baloch people have no rights to acquire education peacefully in Pakistan. According to the Article 25-A of Constitution, The State shall provide free and mandatory education to all children of the age of five to sixteen years. But Balochistan lacks this appropriate right. Even in Balochistan, above 65% children are out of school which is desperately sickening.
Here questions arise: Why are we not let to live like other people of the country? Why is Balochistan treated as a colony?
Unfortunately, owing to dearth of opportunity and attention, a plethora of youths, in Balochistan, are indulged in bad activities, like drug, robbery and many others.
Sadly, many young Baloch sell their mother’s jewellery in order to buy cars with the aim to earn a little money for their families but police, levies, FC, customs and coast guard never let them work peacefully despite the truth.
It is heart-breaking to jot down that when a zamyad reaches from Lasbela to Turbat, he has to pay half of his earnings to the police, levies, CIA, customs or excise.
We always listen to the government that Balochistan is developing.
I want to ask the so-called politicians that what kind of development have you given to the Baloch nation when people are committing suicide due to lack of fundamental or basic rights.
