'Argylle' Director Matthew Vaughn Debunks Taylor Swift Conspiracy

The director of the film "Argylle," Matthew Vaughn, has addressed online conspiracy theories suggesting that Taylor Swift is the secret author behind the book on which the movie is based.

Vaughn clarified in an interview with Rolling Stone that Swift did not write the book and that the author Elly Conway is a real person, not just a pseudonym for the pop star.

"my daughter who came up to me and said, ‘You never told me Taylor wrote the book!’  And I’m looking at her going, ‘What are you talking about Taylor Swift wrote the book? She didn’t write the book!’", He stated.

The speculation arose due to details fans considered potential easter eggs, such as the book cover featuring a Scottish Fold cat resembling Swift's pet Meredith Grey.

Vaughn acknowledged the thoroughness of the online conspiracies but stated definitively that Swift "definitely didn't write the book."
