Netflix releases the trailer of Adam Sandler, Carey Mulligan, and Paul Dano starrer sci-fi film “Spaceman.”
The space film is directed by Johan Renck, well-known for his award-winning work on the HBO miniseries “Chernobyl”.
The movie is based on the 2017 novel “Spaceman of Bohemia” by Czech author Jaroslav Kalfař.
The film is set to premiere at the Berlin Film Festival and will be released in select theaters on February 23, with a Netflix release on March 1.
The story follows astronaut Jakub (played by Adam Sandler), on a solitary mission to the edge of the solar system, facing a crumbling marriage.
The film explores Jakub’s emotional struggles during his 189-day solo mission and his encounter with a mysterious creature named Hanuš (voiced by Paul Dano).
Hanuš, a giant spider-like creature, offers emotional support to Jakub as he tries to repair his relationship with his wife Lenka (Carey Mulligan).
The cast also includes Kunal Nayyar, Lena Olin, and Isabella Rossellini. The script is written by Colby Day.

“Six months into a solitary research mission to the edge of the solar system, an astronaut, Jakub (Adam Sandler), realizes that the marriage he left behind might not be waiting for him when he returns to Earth. Desperate to fix things with his wife, Lenka (Carey Mulligan), he is helped by a mysterious creature from the beginning of time he finds hiding in the bowels of his ship. Hanuš (voiced by Paul Dano) works with Jakub to make sense of what went wrong before it is too late.”
