Turbat Needs a Burn Center
Turbat, after Quetta, is the second-most populous city in Balochistan. The city has multiple private hospitals along with the District Head Quater hospital Turbat for the public. Unfortunately, there is no burn center. What is more alarming is that the entire Makran Division has no burn center.
On a regular, multiple gas cylinder incidents happen in Turbat and surrounding areas, and a huge number of victims get burn injuries or some lose their lives as a result of these incidents. Certain incidents in Turbat over the last few years have resulted in multiple casualties, with victims not receiving appropriate and timely treatment.
We will never forget the horrific tragedies that occurred in Shapuk and near Park Hotel Turbat in 2018, where multiple individuals, including men, women, and children, were the unfortunate victims of gas cylinder blasts.
The absence of a burn center has long been a source of concern for the residents of Turbat, who have suffered greatly as a result of the lack of such a facility. If the government cannot afford to create a separate burn Center, it can at least establish a burn unit within the DHQ hospital Turbat to treat victims of gas cylinders or other fire occurrences.
As a result, I humbly request that the government of Balochistan, specifically the health minister of Balochistan, Syed Ehsan Shah, who also hails from Turbat, take prompt and serious action in this regard.
