‘Godzilla Minus One’ Sees US Box Office Post-COVID Milestone
“Godzilla Minus One,” a Japanese kaiju film directed by Takashi Yamazaki, has also been a success at the US Box Office.
The monster action film has become the only international film post-COVID to cross the $50 million mark at the US box office.
The film explores the aftermath of war and the impact of nuclear fallout, with a unique take on the iconic Godzilla character adding the human emotional core to the setting of the story and thus thrilling the audiences of all ages.
Despite losing some theaters with latest releases this weekend, the actioner has reached a cumulative total of $50.1 million and is aiming for a $55 million run in the US.
The movie is the second biggest Japanese hit in the US since the classic ‘Parasite’ which grossed around $53 million in its final run in the market.
