Rising Cases of Heart Diseases in Pakistan
Cardiologists report that heart disease has become the leading cause of death in Pakistan.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), there has been an alarming increase in deaths due to heart attacks, heart failures, and other cardiac ailments, resulting in a staggering 46 deaths per hour.
Three years ago, only 12 people died per hour from heart disease, but in just three years, the figure has risen alarmingly, and the number of deaths has now risen to 46.
According to (WHO) data from 2016, as many as 250,000 people died in Pakistan each year from heart diseases, accounting for 19% of total deaths in the country. However, in just three years, the WHO has discovered a whopping 29 percent increase in total deaths from heart diseases, amounting to around 406,870 deaths per year.
Lastly, I would like to urge the healthcare authorities to do everything possible to reduce the country’s rising rate of heart disease.
