Dasht Toolagi is a village located about 50 kilometers west of Turbat. The village is plagued by numerous issues, the most pressing of which is the dire state of its Basic Health Unit (BHU). It has been out of service for about 5 to 6 years. What’s more, the BHU exists in government reports but has no physical structure in the village. Every year, funds and medicines are sent to the BHU, but it is disheartening to report that the given funds and medicines are squandered by the concerned employees.
Moreover, a BHU is the primary healthcare system that must be present in every community to protect people from seasonal diseases and to provide emergency treatment.
Furthermore, the absence of the BHU in Dasht Toolagi has left its people deprived of their constitutional rights. As a result, they must travel 50 kilometers to Turbat for medical treatment. Aside from that, the route they take complicates matters even further. When it rains, the situation worsens because the only way through the Dasht river connects them to CPEC M8 road and then to Turbat, but most of the time after rain, the Dasht rive flows from Mirani dam and blocks their way.
The concerned authorities are requested to take action in order to rehabilitate the BHU to facilitate the population of Dasht Toolagi.
