Mr Beast, the popular YouTuber, earned $250,000 from a single video on X (formerly Twitter). The video titled “$1 Car vs. $100,000,000 Car” gained 169 million views on X since it was posted on 16th January.
2 days back Mr Beast announced he would give away all the $250,000 he had earned from the video’s ads impressions to 10 random followers on X who just need to repost the tweet and follow his account.
The said tweet is now the most reposted post on X with over 3.9 million reposts. The tweet has been viewed a massive 142 million times so far and has over 400k replies to it.
Mr Beast had raised concerns about monetization on X in the past and other YouTubers, like KSI, had also expressed dissatisfaction with earnings on X being way less for creators when compared to platforms like YouTube.
In response, Elon Musk had announced plans to increase creator rewards on X to attract creators like Mr Beast to the platform.
Mr Beast’s contest requires followers to repost and follow him on X to win $25,000 each and that incentive has made his tweet the most reposted tweet of all time of X/Twitter.
With 3.9 million reposts, Mr Beast has beaten Yusaku Maezawa (going by @yousuck2020 on X) who had 3.8 million reposts on his tweet.
