‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning’ is gearing up for online streaming release on Paramount+. The action thriller starring Tom Cruise in his famous Ethan Hunt role is set for OTT premiere on 25th January, just days to go.
It’s interesting to note that the film has seen a title change from “Part One” to simply “Dead Reckoning” for its streaming release.
The decision to drop “Part One” might indicate a shift in how the film is being presented for the online streaming audience or possibly a rebranding with the next part’s title in mind, originally titled ‘Dead Reckoning Part Two,’ might also receive a new name. The eighth movie in the ‘Mission Impossible’ franchise has been delayed to a 2025 release.
Anyway, it’s not an uncommon practice for film titles to see changes or modifications between theatrical and streaming releases for different reasons.
The film will see its streaming on Paramount+ platform after more than 200 days (203 days to be specific) being first released in theatres. Tom Cruise’s own ‘Top Gun – Maverick’ saw a similar release strategy for the OTT premiere.
