Hepatitis in Pakistan
Pakistan faces multiple problems and hepatitis c is one of them which is alarmingly increasing in the country. Pakistan has the second highest number of hepatitis C patients in the world. Several youths lose their lives due to the non-availability of the vaccine for hepatitis. However, 12.9 million people are infected with HCV in Pakistan. All the four provinces are the victims of it. Punjab has 5.46 percent, Sindh 2.55%, KP 6.07% and Balochistan have the highest rate among them which is 25.77%. 366000 people die due to hepatitis C in every year. This disease causes fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. It is the responsibility of Pakistan to create the vaccine of hepatitis c and treat the victims successfully.
