Energy Crisis in Balochistan
We live in a century where energy and particularly electricity play a vital role for running of our daily activities. In this progressive era, predominantly accessories and machinery can only be run by electricity. In some cities or towns there are factories and industries which can be run only by electricity. Agriculture is considered to be the backbone of our country’s economy, which can never groom without energy. Balochistan is also suffering form shortfall of electricity where the natives from different areas are vulnerable due to this issue. In rural areas of Balochistan, if electricity is provided then it is exclusively available for three to four hours and then again disappears for complete twenty-four hours. This low voltage electricity is provided just to damage the electrical devices such as refrigerator, water motor, iron, etc. Due to this behaviour of electric supply companies, the citizens are breathless in aflame summer of Kech. It is point of major concern that every year temperature of Turbat rises and breaks its own records. If the government does not provide electricity, people have to carry water from long distances causing weaknesses in their health. Intriguingly, in this modern era solar panel system is used to fulfil some of the energy needs, but if a poor cannot get food twice a day how can he think of installing solar panels? Even if one can afford, he cannot run all the machines by solar system. Especially in Ramadan when people welter for cold water, but due to lack of electricity they cannot get cold water and they are compelled to drink hot water. This clearly demonstrates that electricity is not our basic need, but it functions like a wheel to keep life running.
We plea to the government to make QESCO responsible for its duty.
