“Dad, is everyone happy on this day?” asked Kamal, his heart pounding with joy on the occasion of Eid.
“Yes dear son, it is the day of enjoyment for everyone in the community, and all enjoy as we do,” Kamal’s father smiled and placed his hand on Kamal’s head.
“All right, Papa, let’s go pray, and then we’ll take a stroll around our neighborhood,” Kamal said, smiling.
Kamal was dressed in new clothes and shoes. He went to the mosque with his friends to pray. They then went to a park near the village. Kamal was fascinated by nature’s splendor.
Others played in the park, but Kamal was enthralled by the beauty of nature, and he walked around the park, playing with young flowers and tiny grasses. It was too late, and Kamal needed to enjoy a pleasant stroll with his family out of the village as well. Then he thanked all of his friends and kissed everyone on the head, and they all said together,
“Eid Mubarak”
“Eid Mubarak”
“Eid Mubarak”
Kamal walked into his house and sat down to eat a meal with his family, who all appeared pleased. When food was finished, the entire family decided to go for a walk. They all piled into a Toyota Corolla and drove away with open and happy hearts. Everyone was laughing and admiring the beauty of the greenery of the mountains through the car windows.
When they arrived in a vast green forest, Kamal immediately opened the door and ran away, singing “Eid Mubarak”.
Everyone began to take selfies and photos.
“Dady, it would be much better and more beautiful to have photos near a river,” Kamal stated emphatically.
Chuckled and replied his father, “Don’t worry son, we’ll go there. Today, we go to all of the places “.
“All right, dad, let’s go,” Kamal said as they took a step towards the river. When they arrived, Kamal noticed a herd and inquired of his father, “Dad, whose herd is it, and where is its shepherd?”
“Let me tell you, today everyone is joyful and enjoying themselves; no one is in the mood of the herd,” Kamal’s father said.
“Oh, I see,” he replied.
Kamal noticed a boy his age under a golf tree with a stick and a bottle of water as they got closer. Kamal approached him closely. He noticed the boy with uncombed hair, ripped clothes, and torn shoes. His heart began to beat.
He sat down, placed his hand on the boy’s shoulder, and asked, “Isn’t it Eid?”
“Yeah, it is,” the boy said quietly.
“So, what’s the deal with you being in this state? On this day, everyone wears new clothes and shoes and spends time with their families “, Kamal stated.
“Yes, you are right. This is a joyous and happy day, and everyone changes their clothes and shoes. I, too, want to do what everyone else does, but I cannot afford the expenses of Eid “.
Kamal became even more distraught and asked, “What is your father doing?”
“I am an orphan because I lost my father. If my father were still alive, I would spend this day with people who bring me joy. My job now is to graze the herd “, the kid explained.
Kamal was completely devasted after hearing the boy’s painful words. They were aware that they were spending a lot of money on such days, but they did not consider the needy in their surroundings. He felt very sad on the day of happiness ‘Eid’.
