Dowry System in India
A dowry is an act or can be recognized as the trend nowadays where money, goods, or estate that a woman brings to her husband at the time of marriage. Throughout the world, a huge number of families/tribes are under this practice despite being declared as a crime to every concerned competent authority of the regions of the world. In India, it is known to be an extreme crime to apply the act of dowry. Since a few years later, lots of cases have been reported in India. In 2019, according to the report, the number of cases recorded was 690 to 739. On the other hand, the number of death cases in 2018 reported as 48, but in 2019 the case jumped to 739: the same as, the ratio of death cases increased from 48 in 2018 to 52 in 2019. Besides this, in 2019 recently the dowry case of a Muslim girl named “Ayesha Banu” aged 24, viral a short video clip complaining as per all brutalities done with her; Saying that she was harassed on account of dowry demand by her husband, after all, committed suicide in Sabarmati river on 25th of February 2021.
In the end, the highly competent concerned authorities are requested to take action regarding this controversy and apply the imposed laws on people related to it.
