Climate change will put an end to Human Civilization
In the last decades, climate change has been a hot debate in our contemporary society. From my perspective, I believe that climate change will destroy our present civilization.
One of the strongest arguments, in this case, is that climate change will kill those who cannot acclimatize to harsh environmental living conditions. In fact, climate change usually results in extreme conditions in terms of temperature and atmosphere on the planet, where there is the presence of human civilization. Many people, in particular young and senior persons, can hardly adapt to these circumstances in order to survive. For instance, in the early-August 2003, the lives of thousands of the elderly have been claimed because of an abnormal heat wave related to climate change.
Another justification helping to support my statement is that climate change is frequently ensued by natural disasters including typhoons, flood, drought, and so on, which can not only cause the death of a vast number of human beings but also devastated several villages and cities at a time. For instance, according to the Red Cross, the powerful typhoon Haiyan, one of the strongest cyclones recorded on the planet struck the Philippines in late 2013 and killed over ten thousand of inhabitants in an island in 2013, where many villages and towns were totally destroyed by the same storm.
Opponents to this idea might argue that the effect of climate change is insignificant; however, I believe this is a flawed view. It can be observed that natural disasters are growing in number, frequency and severity these days.
In light of the above-mentioned reasons, I do believe that human civilization will be destroyed by climate change one day. It is, therefore, recommended that individuals, as well as governments across the world, should collaborate in the effort to mitigate factors responsible for climate change, particularly greenhouse gases. By such decisions, we can live for more than 100 years. We should be aware of our coming generations for this disaster.
