Child marriage is defined as the marriage of a girl or a boy before the age of 18, and marriage before the age of 18 is considered a violation of their rights.
One of the most common causes of child marriage is the long-standing cultural practices and ignorance of the people. In many places, a girl is considered someone else’s property from the moment she is born.
The consequences of child marriage can be life-changing for children, particularly girls. The burden of household responsibility falls on the children when they are not mentally prepared for it and as well physically capable.
Regrettably, if a girl becomes pregnant at a young age, it really is damaging to both the mother and the child. Due to unequal power and relationships, girls who marry earlier are most likely to experience violence, abuse, and forced physical encounters.
It is my humble request to the parents of children and the government that programs, seminars, and welfare organizations be established to educate people about the importance of preventing children from marrying at an early age.
