Afghan Peace Process
No one can deny the fact that Afghanistan has been struggling since 2001 when the war started between the united state and the Taliban. During the conflict, several casualties occurred and thousands of people lost their lives including children, troops, and police. According to a report, over the past six years, more than 45,000 Afghan troops and police officers have lost their lives and more than 24,000 Americans have been killed and nearly 20,000 injured.
Though there have been many issues in Pak-Afghan relations, this year seems to be friendly for both of the states. Pakistan also lost more than 80,000 lives to root out terrorism from the country. Pakistan was committed to supporting Afghanistan to attain peace in the region. Both the US government and the Taliban have lost thousands of lives as well as disturbed the citizens of Afghanistan as well as Pakistan. So, it is time to bring peace to the region and have a peaceful dialogue.
