As a student at the University of Turbat (UoT) for over a year and a half, I, like all of my colleagues, have been desperately waiting for the right changes to occur in the varsity’s administrative system, but things have yet to change even a little bit in the right direction. There have always been corrupt elements in the university working to undermine the institution’s system.
Although I am not concerned about education, which is already in decline, the system is corrupting the enrolled students. Nonetheless, students, ignoring the low quality of education, hope for the best after receiving their degrees.
However, when they apply for jobs and sit in papers, as most alumni complain, they remain dumbfounded – cases of not all, but the majority of varsity pass outs.
When it comes to university food, inflation is at an all-time high on campus. A student from a low-income family cannot afford to eat at the canteen. Although the university canteens are supposed to be cheaper, Turbat University’s canteens, which are located far from the city or any adjacent areas and are run by the administration, are charging double the price for the same food items.
If things continue at this rate in the varsity, we will soon see a university devoid of poor students. It eventually creates an inferiority complex among students living in poverty. It can cause a variety of mental illnesses, which can have an impact on education both directly and indirectly.
If the University remains as it is, it will face a number of dilemmas concerning students in the near future. Only to get more money – and they have plenty – they are bringing the administrative system to its knees, which may result in a total loss for the students.
Other than the newcomers, how will the already enrolled students, including those who do not have a monthly income but rely on a family member, fare in such a situation?
